The role of the Project Manager is to plan and manage multiple projects according to strict deadlines and budget. This includes managing project resources and coordinating the efforts of team members which may include company employees and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. This is a contract position for a minimum of 3 months.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage project objectives and tasks
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Develop key project deliverables including SOW, communication plans, project risk matrices, etc.
  • Draft and maintain up-to-date budget estimates and report actual cost variances with explanations
  • Track project milestones and deliverables; proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Follow and managed the established change control process
  • Manage project risks; identify and deploy risk mitigation strategies
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis; coordinate recurring project team and oversight meetings
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate with customers and third party vendors for deployment activities
  • Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project and company
  • Conduct project post mortems and create recommendations in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Work with Company PMO and stakeholders to develop and follow best practices for project execution and management

Required Skills

  • Experience managing all SDLC activities – requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, conversion, QA, testing, UAT testing, training, deployment, etc.
  • Experience with agile development and waterfall systems development life cycles
  • Ability to work with and across multiple organizations, peer leaders and teams to promote and foster strong teamwork
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives
  • Expertise with Microsoft Project management software
  • Persuasive, encouraging and motivating personality
  • Expertise in estimating tasks, timing and work
  • Experience at working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to conduct meetings, make presentations and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including client executives, company management, clients and peers
  • Project management certification, a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Required Experience

  • 5+ years direct work experience in project management capacity

Minimum Educational Experience

  • Four-year college degree
