We have an immediate opening for an automation engineer to assist in the automation of QA and build operations. This individual should have background in hands-on software development as well as general knowledge of QA and build automation.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Improve the overall testing effort by designing and implementing automation frameworks and testing tools using programming and test automation skills.
• Analyze projects and processes to determine the best candidates for automation as well as the best method for automating each project and process.
• Improve overall code quality through the development of unit tests, coded UI tests, ordered tests and other test harnesses.
• Configure and maintain test lab environment.
• Manage continuous build, test and deploy processes.
• Manage TFS code repository, maintain and improve practices of branching, code merge, etc.
• Manage the release of software components into QA, Staging and Production environments.
• Improve speed, efficiency and scalability of the QA and continuous integration environment, automating wherever possible.
• Integrate test automation harnesses into continuous integration system to support quality objectives.

Required Skills

• Love of automation and a strong desire to learn new systems and make them more efficient through automation tools and scripting.
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one of the following languages: Visual Basic, C#, Java, C++, PowerShell.
• Strong technical skills in automation using automation tools, scripting languages and programming languages.
• Strong database skills in MS SQL Server.
• Must be self-directed with minimal need for supervision and guidance, prioritizing own work and coordinating with other team members and business users.
• Excellent people skills when interacting with developers and users.
• Must be a process and efficiency driven person with strong knowledge and practice of SDLC.
• Experience managing source control systems, branching and merging source code, preferably with TFS 2010.
• Ability to work effectively with management, customers, business analysts and developers.
• Experience in automating application deployment and environment configuration management.
• Solid knowledge of best practices, processes and tools required to support a successful continuous integration system.

Desired Skills

• Experience with Test Manager.
• TFS Administration Certification is a big plus.
• Knowledge of SharePoint integration and SharePoint programming.
• Experience with Hyper-V and Lab Manager.
• Previous experience with Theatrical Distribution, Exhibition and/or Digital Cinema businesses.

Minimum Educational Experience

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Utilize subject matter expertise and technical acumen to develop overall product strategy.
• Work with product management to determine the viability of product vision and plan for upcoming releases.
• Work with technical team members to determine technical and practical viability of architecture ideas.
• Assist business analysts in determining if detailed requirements are sufficient to be passed along to the development team.
• Participate as part of development teams to provide technical direction and assist in development life cycle as necessary.
• Responsible for majority of database design, as well as involvement in database coding and optimization across product lines.
• Research and development on new technologies and techniques to facilitate overall system architecture.

Required Skills

• Versed in the techniques of relational database modeling, particularly for large, transaction based enterprise systems.
• Ability to develop and optimize complex SQL code (stored procedures, views, triggers, etc.).
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database platform.
• Extensive architectural and expert level programming experience using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.
• Experience converting Visual Basic 6 applications to .Net.
• Experience architecting systems for Microsoft client and server operating systems.
• Previous architectural experience in web based development environments.
• Understanding of web services, including how and when to best utilize.
• Strong knowledge of XML and related technologies.
• Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work effectively with management, customers, business analysts and developers.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Desired Skills

• Extensive experience with MS SQL Server 2008.
• Development and/or architecture experience with reporting systems such as Crystal or SQL reports.
